After graduating secondary school with 45/45 on his International Baccalaureate, Oscar carried on his studies in the UK, where he read Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Christ’s College, University of Cambridge. He graduated with first class honours while ranking 4th in the cohort, which granted him college scholarship for three consecutive years. He joined a management consulting firm soon after graduation but realised that his true passion is in education. He then enrolled in the PGCE Psychology course at the Institute of Education, University College London, which has been ranked as the world’s No. 1 institute in education (QS Rankings, 2014-2022). Oscar is now a qualified teacher in the UK.

Oscar has accumulated extensive tutoring and teaching experience over the past 6 years, where he specialises in exam preparation (GCSE, A-level, IB) for private tuition, small groups, and bigger classes. While training to become a qualified secondary school teacher, Oscar taught in 2 secondary schools in London. Under his supervision, all of his A-level psychology and GCSE biology students had achieved or exceeded their predicted grades in mock exams. He also moderated marking with examiners from exam boards. With Oscar’s personable approach, he was able to build strong rapport and create a positive learning environment where students flourish.

Oscar understands from experience that it is often difficult for students to receive sufficient individual support in class. His sessions are highly tailored to the specific needs of the tutees, and they are based on the latest pedagogy practices as evidenced in the research literature. His method focuses on developing effective independent learners, who understand the examiner’s perspective, study efficiently, and deploy a range of skills that help maximise achievement.

Oscar will be supporting students studying psychology and biology in UK and international curriculums. Apart from teaching, Oscar is a trained musical theatre singer-actor and a commercial dancer, who is represented by a London talent agency. He spends most of his spare time training and auditioning for shows.
