Mini Mandarins
Since 2014, Mini Mandarins has helped many students learn Mandarin through its innovative, award-winning thematic learning curriculum. Regarded as Hong Kong’s best language learning center, we provide children with full immersion in a theme-based classroom environment, where they engage in practical language use to develop a love for Chinese culture across conversation, reading, and creative writing.
Our programs integrate three key elements:
LEARN
With smaller class size, our teacher will give more personal attention to each child in the group course. Students will focus on listening and oral speaking, with elements of writing and recognition of Chinese characters to develop a stronger foundation for your child’s mastery of Mandarin.
PLAY
With the vocabulary under their belts, children are ready to put what they have learned into practice. Our program enables children to immerse themselves in a theme-based classroom environment, where they can improve their Mandarin conversational skills through interactive activities.
PRACTICE
Practice is the essential key to master a new language. We provide an interactive and fun language environment to ignite students’ curiosity and interesting learning!

With fundamental speaking skills under their belts, students are ready to acquire further literacy and pinyin skills to thread words like beads on a necklace and compose meaningful sentences, passages and stories, a crucial skill most desirable to have before reaching primary school.
In our academic series, students engage in words recognition and pinyin skills, as well as develop and boost their communication and critical thinking skills using Mandarin.
Academics Series
Words Recognition Course 認字班
We understand that Chinese character recognition can be difficult for some early learners. That is why we focus on making it fun and practical by first learning high frequency words through interactive word recognition games. Next, through character strokes, radical and levelled reading, we help them decode the structure of Chinese characters and enhance memory.
Pinyin Course 拼音班
The Mini Mandarins Pinyin course is designed for beginners to develop foundational skills to use Hanyu Pinyin. The course focuses on the Chinese phonetic transcription, starting from Initials, Finals, Syllables and Tones. This course will also help enhance student’s ability in reading, writing and recognizing the characters, laying a solid foundation for Chinese study.
Poetry Recitation Course 朗誦班
Poetry recitation training combines the traditional and dramatic elements of recitation, is designed to bring out the fun in learning fundamental techniques and body & facial expression skills. This is also a great way for students to learn about Chinese culture and boosting their confidence to perform in public.
Chinese Idioms Stories Course 成語故事班
Students will learn different idioms and the background meaning in an interactive form, using concise and vivid text to arouse students' interest in reading, and understanding about traditional Chinese culture and moral. Furthermore, our teachers will help students enrich their vocabulary pool, and capture keywords in articles to comprehensively improve children's reading comprehension.
GAPSK Kindergarten Putonghua Proficiency Test Prep Program 幼稚園普通話水平考試預備課程
Through GAPSK Putonghua Proficiency Test, parents can understand their children's listening, speaking and reading abilities in Putonghua. The test results will help parents determine and set learning goals to prepare their children for primary school admissions interviews, as well as to bridge the Putonghua or Chinese courses in school.
Our test prep program is designed and led by certified GAPSK Kindergarten Putonghua Proficiency Test Examiners. Our native speaking teachers, who are familiar with the test process and scoring criteria, will guide the students to master their language proficiency. We provide multiple simulated test exercises and score sheets to track students’ learning progress.
