Our Team

Kaera earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Rhodes University in South Africa, followed by an Honours degree in Biotechnology, where she conducted research in stem cell-based 3D bioprinting for disease modelling. Her academic experience laid the foundation for her strong subject knowledge and interest in science communication. She later completed a TEFL certification to better support multilingual learners.

Kaera’s teaching journey began in high school with Biology tutoring, which sparked her passion for education. In 2018, she served as a regional judge at the Rhodes University/Eskom Expo for Young Scientists, supporting student-led scientific inquiry. After moving to Hong Kong, she taught English to learners of various ages, then returned to South Africa to work as a swimming instructor with students from infants to adults. She later resumed English teaching in Hong Kong before transitioning to STEM education. Currently, Kaera teaches Biology and STEM in a hands-on, student-centered way, integrating real-world applications and exam strategies. Her lessons are built around curiosity, clarity, and confidence, helping students develop a strong grasp of scientific concepts.

At ARCH, Kaera is a Biology Instructor dedicated to helping students strengthen their academic foundations, master exam strategies, and develop an appreciation for science. She strives to make Biology engaging, accessible, and relevant, whether students are preparing for public examinations or pursuing enrichment beyond the curriculum. Kaera is excited to contribute to ARCH’s mission by creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment tailored to each student’s goals.

Outside of the classroom, Kaera enjoys swimming, yoga, and baking—especially experimenting with her signature cinnamon rolls. She also spends time reading and relaxing with her cat. These activities help her maintain a healthy balance between work and life, allowing her to approach teaching with clarity, focus, and a grounded perspective.
